Harriett Hankins McClendon, 99, of Little Rock, formerly Warren, died on October 24, 2014.

She was born on May 12, 1915 at Warren where she lived the first 87 years of her life. She was the daughter of the late Charles Felton Hankins and Athleen Martin Hankins and the great-great granddaughter of Capt. Hugh Bradley for whom Bradley County was named. She attended The College of the Ozarks in Clarksville, where she was a homecoming queen.

Mrs. McClendon was a life-long member of the First Presbyterian Church in Warren, a member of the Warren Junior Auxiliary, and an avid golfer who enjoyed playing well into her eighties.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Thornton McClendon who died shortly after they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Felton Martin Hankins of Warren, and sister, Betty Hankins Henry, of Pine Bluff.

She is survived by two sons, Charles Alfred McClendon and wife, Carol, of Roswell, Georgia and Mike McClendon and wife, Judy, of Little Rock; four grandchildren, Lesley McClendon of Atlanta, Georgia; Matt McClendon and wife, Suzanne, of Little Rock; Liz McClendon Longworth and husband, Pat, of Little Rock; and Mary Kathryn McClendon Emmons and husband, Matt, of Richardson, Texas; and eight great grandchildren.

Mrs. McClendon was buried in her hometown of Warren, following a family graveside service. A memorial service was held on October 28 at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Warren, officiated by Rev. Philip Faris. Organist was Carla McDougald. Active pallbearers were Bryan Martin, David Roddey, Rick Henry, Matt McClendon, Matt Emmons and Pat Longworth.
