Harry “Scooter” Davey, 70, of Hamburg, died on May 31, 2017 at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.

Mr. Davey was a native of Banks, a resident of Hamburg for the past 38 years and a former resident of Fountain Hill.

He was a graduate of Fountain Hill High School, a member of the Ashley County Civil Defense for many years, and a member of the Arkansas National Guard for six years. He retired from the Georgia-Pacific Paper Mill in 2002 after 36 years of service. He was a member of the Fountain Hill First Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his family and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Mr. Davey was preceded in death by his father and step-mother, Eddie Davey and Kitty Davey; his mother and step-father, Hettie Kerlee Graves and Malvin Graves and two sisters, Rita Roberts and Vera Leard.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lynda Roberts Davey of Hamburg; a brother, Charles “Skip” Davey and wife, Gail, of Hamburg; two half brothers, Sammy and Albert Davey and two half sisters, Christine Akins and Rita Knowles.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, at the Promise Land Cemetery with Bro. Trey Emory officiating.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday at Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home in Hamburg.

Honorary pallbearers are Clif Wells, Jerrod Williamson, James Allen Roberts, Scott Roberts, Eli Roberts and Michael Cunningham.
