Helen Thornton, 95, of Parkdale, died February 18, 2014 at Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village.
She was a native of Camden, Ala. and resident of Parkdale for 84 years. She was a homemaker, and a member of Penny Chapel C.M.E. Church.
Mrs. Thornton was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Thornton; her parents, George and Nadine Thornton; and her godson, George Davidson, Jr.
She is survived by her sister, Margie Morris of Pine Bluff; godson, Albert Davidson and wife Nancy of Little Rock; god-granddaughters: Martha and Betty Davidson both of Hamburg; Territha Reed of Little Rock; god-grandson, Eddie Davidson, Sr. of Monticello; god great-grandsons, Ethan Davidson, Demarien Johnson, Joshua Burrell, Jeremiah Burrell, and Eddie Davidson, Jr.; god-great-granddaughters, Auriona Whitaker, Faith Burrell and Vivian Guy; her aunt, Fannie Morris; and a host of other loved ones, family and friends.
Funeral services will be held February 23 at 2 p.m. at Cromwell Funeral Home in Hamburg with Bro. Donald Manning officiating.
Pallbearers are Jeremiah William, Eddie Davidson, Sr., Willie Williams, George Davidson, III and Quincy Conley. Honorary pallbearers are Randy Smith, James Dillard & A.C. Campbell. Burial in Zion Hill Cemetery under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home.
