A Hermitage man was killed late Saturday afternoon in a one-vehicle accident in Bradley County.
According to an Arkansas State Police preliminary accident report, Samuel N. Clanton, 44, of Hermitage was traveling west on Arkansas 8 at Johnsville when his Chevrolet Silverado ran off the right shoulder of the highway after Clanton negotiated a curve. Clanton overcorrected and the truck veered back across the highway and off the eastbound shoulder. He overcorrected again and the truck traveled back across the highway and off the westbound shoulder. As he attempted to bring the truck back onto the highway the truck began overturning and Clanton was ejected.
Clanton died at the scene of the accident.
The accident occurred around 4 p.m. The roadway was dry and the weather was clear, according to state police
