NFL players Jarius Wright and Greg Childs will be roasted and toasted on April 5 by their former high school football coach and others at a benefit dinner and auction sponsored by the Bradley County Chamber of Commerce.

Wright and Childs, who grew up in Warren, played football together for the Warren Lumberjacks and later the Arkansas Razorbacks before they were picked up in last year’s NFL draft by the Minnesota Vikings.

They will be roasted and toasted by Warren Lumberbacks head coach Bo Hembree, Warren and Ouachita Baptist University football standout Bryan Church, and Arkansas sportswriter Andy Hodges.

The event will be held April 5 at 6:30 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church, located at 701 W. Pine Street in Warren. Tickets are $20 each and are available at the Bradley County Chamber of Commerce.

The Roast & Toast is a benefit to raise funds for Warren’s efforts to become an Arkansas Downtown Network community, a sort of springboard to the Main Street Arkansas program. Main Street Arkansas, an Arkansas Historic Preservation program, combines historic preservation and economic development to revitalize Arkansas’ downtowns.
