A Drew County resident on Monday discovered what appeared to be human skeletal remains in a wooded area east of Monticello, according to a news release from the Drew County Sheriff’s Office.
The remains are believed to be that of a black male.
Drew County Sheriff Mark Gober was notified by phone Monday afternoon, March 26, that a Drew County resident discovered what appeared to be human skeletal remains in a wooded area behind a home on Highway 138. Once on scene, members of the Drew County Sheriff’s Office and Arkansas State Police collected the evidence which was taken to the Arkansas Crime Lab for identification.
The investigation is ongoing.
