Hunter Smith finished third out of over 40 participants to lead the University of Arkansas at Monticello men’s golf team to a tie for third place out of eight teams at the Union Fall Classic at the Jackson Country Club in Jackson, Tennessee.
Smith posted scores of 71, 72 and 75 for a three-round total of 218, just two strokes behind second place finisher Shane Peden of Bethel College and just three strokes behind top finisher Easton Lavelle of Freed-Hardeman.
Ari Magnusson tied for 10th at 227, Theodor Karlsson tied for 14th at 229, Bryan Witmer tied for 21st at 233 and Billie Trawick finished 26th at 235.
As a team, the Weevils posted a three-round total of 902 to tie Cumberland University for third place. Spring Hill College finished first at 893, and Bethel College finished second at 895.
