Andrea Huskey, a former banker who worked 12 years in the accounting department at Clearwater Paper Corporation, has announced her candidacy for Drew County Tax Collector in the upcoming May Republican primary.
“I believe my experience in the banking and accounting fields has provided me the necessary skills needed to do this job well,” Huskey said in her campaign announcement.
Huskey worked for several years in the banking industry as an assistant vice president and loan officer as well as 12 years in the accounting department at Clearwater Paper Corporation.
Huskey says she has chosen to run on the Republican ticket because she believes the Republican Party most closely reflects the conservative values and principles of the people of Southeast Arkansas.
She was instrumental in the founding of the Southeast Arkansas Republican Women’s (SEARW) organization and served as its first president. She is still an active member.
“I will give my complete dedication to performing the duties of tax collector,” Huskey said. “I ask for your vote and will appreciate being given the opportunity to work for the citizens of our county.”
Huskey and her husband, Joe Huskey, have one child.
