A Drew County man was sentenced to 55 years in prison Tuesday after a Drew County jury convicted him of aggravated residential burglary and manslaughter in the death of a Monticello man.
At the conclusion of a one-day trial, Jeremy Huskey, 39, was sentenced to 35 years in prison for aggravated residential burglary and 20 years for manslaughter in the death of 67-year-old George Flowers, of Monticello. Circuit Judge Sam Pope ordered the sentences to run consecutive.
Flowers died of complications from blunt force physical trauma on August 13, 2017, less than a month after Huskey attacked Flowers at his home.
