Gov. Asa Hutchinson has ordered the flag of the state of Arkansas to be lowered to half-staff in tribute to the memory of Drew County Sheriff’s Deputy Timothy Braden who was killed in the line of duty on Thursday, August 24.
The flag will be flown at half-staff from August 25, until the day of interment.
Braden, 29, died in a vehicle accident during a vehicle pursuit on Barkada Road in Monticello.
“It is always a difficult day when I hear of the loss of one of Arkansas’ finest,” Hutchinson said. “I am deeply saddened to learn that Deputy Timothy Braden was killed in the line of duty early this morning. Deputy Braden’s life was cut short in service to the people of our state. My prayers and gratitude are with Deputy Braden’s family and with the law enforcement community for their selfless commitment to serve and protect the people of our state, even in times of danger.”
