Gov. Asa Hutchinson on Thursday said the Arkansas businesses are not ready to enter the second phase of reopening. He did not set a timeline for the second phase.
“Obviously when you see two days of increasing cases and two days of increase in hospitalization, that causes you to pause and say we’ve got to make sure that we remind everybody to be careful, not to take this for granted, and not just to assume that we’re going to be at phase two in 14 days,” Hutchinson said at his daily briefing.
The number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 is 4,366, an increase of 130 new cases since Wednesday. There have been 98 deaths.
The first reopening phase began earlier this month when the state eased some restrictions on state parks, restaurants, fitness centers, hair and nail salons, barbershops, tattoo shops, massage parlors and medical spas.
