Irma Frances Frisby Leslie, 89, of Warren, passed away on August 13, 2016, at her home.
She was a graduate of Hermitage High School and Arkansas A&M College where she received a teaching degree. She taught elementary and junior high students at Hermitage and Warren schools for 35 years, most of that as a fourth grade teacher in Warren, until her retirement in 1987. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Warren.
Mrs. Leslie was born on May 4, 1927, at Vick, Arkansas and was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Frisby.
She is survived by a son, Sam Leslie and wife Debbie of Monticello; five daughters, Lynn Starns and husband Brett of Bogalusa, Louisiana, Joan Albritton and husband Ronnie of Zachary, Louisiana, Donna Leslie of Memphis, Tennessee, Sherri Courtney of Baker, Louisiana, and Terri Chisom and husband Danny of Monticello; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a sister, Melvina Nixon and husband Jerry of Sheridan; and a brother, Gerald Frisby of Sheridan.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Samuel McFadden Leslie, Sr.; her parents; three brothers, Willie Charles “Pete” Frisby, Carroll Lee Frisby, and Bill Frisby; an infant son, William Mack Leslie; and one granddaughter, Katie Moore.
Funeral services will be held on August 16 at 10 a.m. at Frazer’s Funeral Home in Warren. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery.
