Jack Johnston, 84, of Crossett, died July 8, 2014 at the Pinewood Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Johnston was a native of Crossett and former resident of Hazen and Little Rock for many years before moving back to Crossett in 1989. He worked for Arkansas Power and Light, now Entergy, for 39 before retiring in 1989. He was a Mason and a member of the Hazen Masonic Lodge.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Effie Baker Johnston and two granddaughters, Nicole Johnston and Marci Rankin.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marguerite Phillips Johnston of Crossett; three sons, Phillip Johnston and wife, Jobie, of Clinton, Dickie Johnston of Devalls Bluff and Chris Johnston and wife, Mary Jane, of Fountain Hill; a daughter, Stacy Baker and husband, Jon, of Atlanta, Georgia; a brother, Jimmy Johnston of Livingston, Texas and a sister, Jerry Carter of Crossett; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial will be held July 11 at 10 a.m. at the Pinewood Memorial Park in Crossett with Rev. George Hart officiating.
