A Drew County jury on Thursday acquitted 27-year-old Jackey Bostain of murder charges.
After returning from nearly three hours of deliberations Thursday evening, the 10-woman, 2-man jury found Bostain not guilty of first-degree murder and first-degree battery in the February 2011 death of his 8-week old son, Ridley.
When the verdict was read, Bostain supporters on the south side of the courtroom embraced. The north side of the courtroom, where the baby’s maternal family and supporters sat, was chaotic as the child’s mother began crying then fell to the floor. An ambulance arrived moments later.

Justice runs down like Rivers of Water and Righteousness like a Mighty Stream. This is the Word of God and at the end of the day that is the case in point here for it was clearly defined by all parties and Righteousness prevailed in the 10th Judicial District of the State of Arkansas.
JUSTICE!
I didn’t sleep well last night knowing a murderer is walking the streets. I’m reminded of my 30 plus years in small-town Arkansas. Drugs, cops, and politics all play an essential role in every aspect of life. Been there, done that! I was once threatened for trying to convince another jury member, who had been threatened herself, that a “native” was guilty of manslaughter for driving drunk. My prayers are with “each” involved because ultimately God will have the final say. Justice For Ridley!!
Really? Did I hit a nerve? Are you just going to ignore my “comment”? Freedom of Speech and all of that? Please?!!
I can’t help but wonder if by him being acquitted was she not more or less convicted in most people’s minds.
Also, I wonder if all the people praying prayed for a conviction, acquittal, or justice.
I left a comment earlier, and apparently a newspaper, who uses freedom of speech, didn’t like it because it’s been deleted. Small town politics. Been there, done that! God will see that justice is done for Ridley!
To the individual that didn’t sleep well last night knowing there is a murderer on the streets, ever read taming of the shrew? “Me thinks she doth protest too much”. That mother and her family went to great lengths to try and have that young man convicted of this. I don’t know if you were a spectator during the trial but I was. Her and her parents’ testimony was full of condridictions and misstatements. After the verdict was read that girl started screaming, fainted, came to, and started kicking and beating at the floor in the manner of a child having a tantrum. You are right a murder is walking the streets and I believe that girl, who has probably always been coddled and got whatever she wanted, in fits of rage, as she displayed in the court room, and lets not discount her psychiatric disorder(s) hurt that baby then tried to put it off on that young man to save herself. The Jury had three lesser charges they could have convicted that young man of, but no he got a full acquittal. That should tell you something.
