Jalna Jale Mazzanti, 84, of Lake Village died on July 28, 2019 in Jackson, Mississippi.
She was born on October 4, 1934 in Dermott to the late James Howard Turner and the late Helen M. (Simpson) Turner.
Mrs. Mazzanti married Francis Baldie Mazzanti on June 26, 1958 at Lake Village. She received her bachelor’s degree in education at Arkansas State Teachers College (UCA). She also received a master’s degree in education in 1977. She worked in administration at Lakeside School District for many years before retiring.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Francis Baldie Mazzanti; a daughter, Angela Marie Mazzanti of Greenville, Mississippi; two sons, Jeffry Turner Mazzanti and wife, Megan of New Orleans, Louisiana and Francis Baldie Mazzanti and wife, Samantha Hulme of New Orleans, Louisiani; five grandchildren, Candace Ashley Walker, Kayla Mazzanti, Heath Mazzanti, Hudson Mazzanti, and Turner Mazzanti; two great-grandchildren, Peyton Walker, Morgan Mazzanti and a host of friends and other family.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 31 from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. followed by funeral services at 10 a.m. at Lake Village Baptist Church in Lake Village with Pastor Tim Chennault officiating. Burial will follow the funeral at Holy Innocents Cemetery on Stuart Island in Lake Village.
