James Aaron Burns, 69, of Star City died on September 6, 2016 at his home.
He was on June 17, 1947 in Star City to the late William Vernon, Sr. and Hortense Ann Greenham Burns. He was a member of Yorktown Free Will Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He was a Gideon and a member of the Lincoln County Quorum Court for 10 years and was the owner of Burns Custom Paint and Design.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Burns.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Bradshaw Burns; son, Daron (Lisa) Burns; brother, W. V. “Skipper” (Lane) Burns, Jr.; and two grandchildren, Ashley Guffey and Brianna Burns, all of Star City.
Funeral services will be held on Septemer 9 at 2 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Chapel with Bro. Dewayne Roper and Bro. B. J. Duvall officiating. Visitation is September 8 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will e at at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Sandy Burns, Robert McGriff, Jamey McBurnett, Lee McBurnett, Bubba Humphrey and Phillip Humphrey. The family will be at the home of Daron Burns, 1001 Dogwood Dr.
