James E. (Jamie) Carpenter, 65, of Crossett passed away November 7, 2013 at his home.
He was born on December 31, 1947 to Dorothy and S.J. Carpenter in Lufkin, Texas.
Mr. Carpenter worked for Georgia Pacific in the Pulp Mill as an E&I Technician until he retired. He was a member of Beech Street Missionary Baptist Church and an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, riding motorcycles, fishing and anything else that had to do with water.
He is preceded in death by his father, S.J. Carpenter.
He leaves to honor his memory his son, Mike Carpenter of Crossett; two daughters, Jamie Wallesch and Barbie (Billy) Townsend, both of Little Rock; his mother, Dorothy Carpenter of Crossett; one brother, Robert Carpenter of Shelbyville, Texas; one sister, Jan Matteson of SanRafael, Calif.; three grandsons, Jesse (Brittani) Harrington of Crossett, Adam Townsend and Luke Wallesch, both of Little Rock; two nephews, Daniel and Andy Matteson of San Rafael, Calif.; and a host of friends who loved him.
Visitation is at Medders Funeral Home in Crossett on November 10 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Funeral service will be on Monday, November 11 at Medders Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m., followed by interment at Pinewood Memorial Park.
