James “Deryl” Courtney, 75, of Crossett, passed away January 24, 2014 at University Health in Shreveport, La.
He was a Baptist, United States Air Force Veteran and retired from Georgia-Pacific. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Mr. Courtney was born on April 29, 1938 at Ingalls and was the son of the late Covern Courtney and Alma Sharp Phillips.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyne Wilson Courtney of Crossett; two sons, Hal Mark Courtney of Monticello and Darrell Falk and wife Laura of Crossett, one daughter, Rosalind Jayne Goodwin and husband Wesley of Petal, Miss.; one brother, Doyle Courtney of Melbourne, Fla.; four grandchildren, Courtney Goodwin, Jennifer Freeman and husband Jeremey, Jared Falk and Kirby Falk; three great-grandchildren, Josh, Jenna and Jordan Freeman; one special nephew, Mike Courtney of Springhill, Fla. and one niece, Kelly Courtney Collier of Baton Rouge, La.
Funeral services will be held January 27 at 2 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Farrell Breshears officiating. Interment will follow in Union Hill Cemetery in Bradley County under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
Visitation will be held from noon until service time on Monday at Jones Funeral Home.
