Jimmy Carter

James D. “Jimmy” Carter, 60 of Monticello passed away February 27, 2014 at his home.

Mr. Carter worked as a security guard at War Eagle Boats and was a Presbyterian.

He graduated from Arkansas A & M (UAM) with a BS in English, worked many years at the Drew County Regional Library and UAM Library. He enjoyed reading, being at home and the farm working with his cows.

He was born September 30, 1953 the son of the late J.D. Carter and Katherine Carter.

Survivors include two sisters, Pattie Carter Lack and husband Johnny of Lake Village and Gail Carter Hyatt and husband David T. Hyatt, Jr. of Monticello; two nephews, Carter Lack and Susan and John Troy Lack and Ellie all of Hattiesburg, Miss.; two nieces, Jaye Jones and Larry of Monticello and Johna Peyton of Leland, Miss., five great nieces and nephews, numerous other relatives and friends.

Private memorial service will be at a later date.

Arrangements are being handled by Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello.
