James David Reaves

James David Reaves, 69, of McGehee passed away peacefully on November 21, 2021 in his home surrounded by his family.

Mr. Reaves was a lifelong resident of McGehee, a US Army Veteran, a former McGehee Police Officer, and retired as an employee of Arkansas Department of Corrections. He loved his family and enjoyed a very strong bond with his grandchildren. He was a die-hard Razorback fan.

Mr. Reaves was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Nadine, and brother Gene Reaves.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Joy, and their five children, Cpt. Christopher and wife Ann Reaves, of Fort Lewis, Washington, Jason, and wife Brittany Dupwe, of Kelso, Amy and husband Chris Hawkins of McGehee, Beverly Dupwe, Miranda and husband Brent Overton, of McGehee. He is also survived by siblings Linda Valentine, Brenda Reaves, and Dewayne “Boo” Reaves, and wife Tina, 15 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 27, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee. Funeral Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jason Martin officiating.
