James Edward Hendrix, 82, of Crossett, passed away on September 8, 2016.
He was born on January 17, 1934 at Strong and was the son of the late James Clyde and Mary Lee Gilmore Hendrix.
Mr. Hendrix worked at the Central Stores for Georgia Pacific. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, playing with his dog, Winston and getting together with high school classmates once a month. He was an avid Razorback fan and a member of South Main Baptist Church.
In addition to his paretns, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Carla Ann Hendrix, and a sister, Jeanette Brown.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Maxine Hendrix of Crossett; a son, Jim Hendrix (Jimmie Ann) of Camden; three step-grandchildren, Mike Carpenter of Crossett, Barbie Townsend (Billy) and Jamie Wallesch, of Little Rock; three great-grandchildren, Jesse Harrington, Adam Townsend, Luke Wallesch and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 10 at 2:30 p.m. at South Main Baptist Church with Bro. Lyle Hern officiating. Interment will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday at South Main Baptist Church.
