James “Jim” Edward Palsa, 82, of Tillar, passed away November 14, 2020 at his home.
He was born on May 16, 1938 at Carlisle and was the son of the late John Edward Palsa and Carra Johnson Palsa.
Mr. Palsa was member at First Baptist Church of Dumas where he served as deacon, taught the men’s Sunday school class for over 30 years. He served as lay minister for Hispanic Church and lay chaplain for the Arkansas Department of Correction at the Cummins facility. He was a member of Gideon and Star City Hunting Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, James Edward Palsa, Jr., and Christopher Gene Palsa, and a sister, Joy Mason.
Survivors are his wife, Jean Palsa and son, Eddie Palsa both of Tillar; a one brother, John Timothy Palsa of Carlisle; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on November 17, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dubs Byers and Rev. Reuel Cruce officiating. Burial will follow at Jefferson Cemetery.
