James Harold “Buddy” Irons, 72, of McGehee, passed away on January 8, 2018.

He was born at Gould and was a son of the late Harold Nelson and Lucille Hollis Allen Irons.

Mr. Irons worked at Wells Lamont Glove Factory for more than 30 years. He was a truck driver for many years and retired from the City of McGehee. He attended Antioch Baptist Church in McGehee. He loved to hunt and fish and spend time gardening. He loved the outdoors.

Other than his parents, Mr. Irons was preceded in death by his wife, Gracie Abernathy Irons and his son, Allen Irons.

Survivors include daughters, Denice Stitt and her husband Todd of Rison and Tracy Robbins and her husband Allen of Little Rock; brothers, David Earl Irons of McGehee and Bruce Allen Irons of Gould; a sister, Deborah Lynn Bradley of White Hall; and grandchildren, Taylor Stitt, Drew Stitt, Cody Irons and Ashlyn Irons.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 10 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 11 at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Kirby Caple officiating. Burial will follow at McGehee Cemetery.
