James Henry Gilbert, 84, of Crossett, passed away on October 24, 2019.
He was born on August 5, 1935 in Jackson Township, Arkansas to his parents, Jeff D. and Mabel Haynes Gilbert.
Mr. Gilbert was a carpenter at Georgia Pacific who retired after 42 years of service. He was also a and former deacon and groundskeeper for Beulahland Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the Arkansas Razorbacks. He was a builder and loved to build turkey calls and toy guns and pistols for his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Tim Gilbert, and a brother, Billy Gilbert.
Left to cherish his memory, is his wife of over 63 years, Nina Gilbert; two sons, Terry Gilbert (Barb) and Paul Gilbert (Jennifer); one daughter in law, Stephanie Murphy; six grandchildren, Jenny Russell (Jason), Colby Gilbert, Jordan Walker (Richie), Zach Gilbert (Brooke), Carson Gilbert and Jacob Gilbert; eight great grandchildren, Tyler Peters, Bailee Peters, Drew White, Landon White, Layla Russell, Holden Walker, Grayson Walker and C.J. Gilbert; sister and brother in law, Dean and Betty Hooks and a host of other friends and loved ones.
Visitation is Friday, October, 25, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Beulahland Assembly of God Church in Crossett.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 26 at 2 p.m. at the church with Bro. Ricky Tyler and Bro. Rich Murphy officiating. Interment is in Crossroads Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Greg Donald, Gary Booker, Mark Guin, Todd Rice, Ronnie Davis, Jason Heath, Darren Lansdale and Rea Lucas. Honorary Pallbearers are Hoylan Outlaw, Charlie Smith, Floyd Stephenson, Billy Jo Harrington, Carl Vorhease, Billy Gammel and Dr. Carter Cox.
