James “Jim” Floyd Wooten, 59, of Monticello, passed away on April 1, 2017 at his home.

He was born on June 12, 1957 in New Albany, IN to the late Thomas Dale Wooten and Margaret Eads Wooten.

He was a retired boiler maker, United States Army Veteran and was a member of Rose Hill Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Chris Wooten and wife Hope of Lake Village and Michael Wooten and wife Emily of Alabama; two brothers, Tom Wooten and wife Shelly of Monticello and Jerry Dale Wooten of Louisville, KY; three sisters, Kim Berry and Teresa McCullough both of Monticello and Marilyn Rothwell and husband Lynn of Fordyce; five grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello Burial with military honors will be at Andrews Chapel Cemetery. Visitation is from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
