James Lamar Stevens, 63, of Crossett, passed away on September 16, 2020, at his home.
He was born on November 11, 1956, in Gonzales, Louisiana, to Murray and Elsie Leblanc Stevens and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hamburg.
He was a Crossett resident most of his life and worked as a pipefitter in the construction industry for many years. His most recent job was customer service representative at Atwoods, a position he absolutely enjoyed because of his fun-loving and jovial personality.
Lamar loved growing vegetables in his garden, flowers in his yard, and was quite a talented craftsman. He enjoyed fishing, and most importantly, spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Elsie and Murray, his brother, Marc Stevens, and one sister, Robin Beaux.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Reba Stevens, of Crossett; four children, Aaron Stevens (Ashley) of St. Amant, Louisiana, Leah Duplechin (Derek) of Paulina Louisiana, Shane Austin (Disha) of Crossett, and Toby Austin (Brooke) of Hamburg; one brother, Murray Stevens, Jr. (Sandi) of Gonzales, Louisiana; four sisters Monica Brown (David), Brenda Frank (Larry), Patrice Perkins, and Jessica Diez Munoz (Oscar); along with ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and loving friends.
Lamar’s family will have a visitation at 9 a.m. Saturday Sept. 19, followed by a family led memorial service at 10 a.m. at Hamburg First UMC, 202 S. Main Street, Hamburg AR 71646.
