James Lawrence Morgan, 57, of Arkansas City, passed away on December 31, 2018.
He was born on February 19, 1961 to the late Jimmy Rogers Morgan and Helen Frances Newton Morgan.
He was a longtime farmer who loved his family, especially his grandchildren and his mother. He enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Sue Farris Morgan and grandson, Christian Holley.
Survivors include his mother, Helen Morgan of Lake Village; daughters, Lacey Morgan and Magon Morgan both of Arkansas City; son, James Farris of Hope; brothers, Billy Wayne Morgan and Jimmy Ray Morgan both of Greenville, Mississippi; sisters, Mary Prescott of Lake Village, Tina Stokes of Greenville, Mississippi, Effie Woods of Greenville, Mississippi, Carol Whittington of Lake Village, and Lula Lucille Morgan of Sunflower, Mississippi, and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 2, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. at the Halley Cemetery with Rev. John Carter officiating.
