James Leonard “Dick” Norrell, 94, of Dermott, previously of Eudora, passed away on March 4, 2015 at Chicot Memorial Medical Center in Lake Village.
He was a WWII Army Air Force veteran and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Lake Village.
Mr. Norrell was born on August 15, 1920 in Mississippi and was the son of the late James Richard Norrell and Wynona Carlton Norrell.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Luther, Tom, John, and Bobby Norrell, and three sisters, Velma, Effie, and Rubye.
Survivors are his wife, Dorris Welch Norrell, of Dermott; a son, Joseph Leonard Norrell and wife, Jennifer of Sugar Land, Texas; three grandchildren, Jeffery Lee Norrell and wife, Aimee of Columbia, South Carolina, Meredith Bland and husband, Jimmy of Cedar Park, Texas, and Richard Rinehart and wife, Carmen of Jakarta, Indonesia; four great-grandchildren, Maia, Rhys, Thomas, and Patrick; and host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation is March 7 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Village. Memorial services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor Kay Childs-Travis officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Arrangements are by Bishop-King Funeral Home of Lake Village.
