James Oliver, 76, of Hamburg, died on April 17, 2020.
Mr. Oliver was a native of Fountain Hill and a resident of Hamburg for most of his life. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a truck driver for the Georgia-Pacific Corporation for more than 30 years before his retirment in 1999, and a member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Margaret Ann Shaver Oliver in 2006; his parents, Ervin and Edith Sivils Oliver; three brothers, Billy Oliver, Ricky Ross and Jeff Ross; and twin grandchildren, Ava Virginia and James Maddox.
He is survived by two sons, Jimmy Oliver and wife, Debbie, and Brian Oliver and wife, Tammy, all of Mabelvale; two daughters, Cindy Smith and husband, Jeff, of Livingston, Texas and Priscy Farmer and husband, Mike, of Clarksville, Tennessee; a sister, Linda Hall and husband, Harold, of Maumelle; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Due to the recent health concerns of COVID-19, a private graveside service will be held Monday, April 20, at the Flat Creek Cemetery with Bro. Bill Elton officiating.
Honorary pallbearers are his grandsons and Ravi Wadhawni.
