James Paul “Jimmy” Miles, Sr., 69, of McGehee, died November 28, 2013.
He was born at Subiaco on May 15, 1944 to the late Charles F. and Rachel Savannah Spicer Miles.
Mr. Miles was a retired farmer who received the Outstanding Young Farmer of the Year Award in 1968 and the Farm Family of the Year Award in 1969. He loved his family and friends and loved being outdoors and hunting. He also enjoyed cooking and watching western movies.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles W. Miles and sister, Nelda C. Strecker.
Survivors include his sons, James Paul “JP” Miles, Jr. (Dana) of McGehee, and Randal Scott Miles of Little Rock, AR; brothers, George W. Miles, Larry D. Miles, Sr., and Gary N. Miles, Sr., all of McGehee; sisters, Jean Trusty Kunz of Little Rock, Eloise Trusty of Dardanelle and Betty Lou Tabor of McGehee; and grandchildren, Shelby Miles, Dane Miles and Scott Miles.
Visitation will be November 30 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m., at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee. Funeral Services will be held December 1 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of McGehee with Dr. Ed Balducci and Rev. Will Choate officiating. Burial will be at McGehee Cemetery.
