James Herman Temple, 64 of Warren, died Monday, October 21 at his home.
He was born October 19, 1949 in Bradley County to the late James Monroe Temple and Louise Hines Temple.
He was a retired sawyer for the Calion Lumber Company and the Bradley Lumber Company. He served in the United States Marine Corp and in the Vietnam Conflict. He attended the Assembly of God church and loved to deer hunt.
He is preceded in death by a brother Roger Dale Temple and a sister Pat Craig.
Survivors include his wife Georgia Naomi Clines Temple, whom he married November 19,1977; two sons, James Darrell Temple and Christopher Brian Temple, both of Warren; a daughter, Shelly Renee Laws of Warren; a step-son Ricky Edgin of Pickens, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 23 at First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Jim Bales and Rev. Wayman Mann officiating. Music was provided by Georgia Jones and Mary Fierce.
Burial was in Union Hill Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Orlan Davis, Jody Jester, Charles Goins, Jimmy Hays, Dewayne Hines, Jamie Taylor, Jesse Williams and Bobby Mann. Honorary pallbearer was Pete Mann.
