James Victor Tiner, 89, of Little Rock, passed away on, June 20, 2015 at his home.

He was was a retired management forester with the Arkansas Forestry Commission.

After his service in the United States Air Force, Mr. Tiner earned a degree in Forestry from Arkansas A&M (now UAM). He worked as a Management Forester for the Arkansas Forestry Commission for more than 30 years and was a member of Westover Hills Presbyterian Church in Little Rock.

Mr. Tiner was born on April 6, 1926 at Monticello and was the son of the late Victor and Gussie May Cox Tiner.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Roma Gene Tiner.

Mr. Tiner is survived by his wife of more than 62 years, Mary Jane Funderburg Tiner of Little Rock; his son, James David Tiner of Colorado; his daughter, Barbara Tiner Hickman and husband, Dr. Guy Hickman of Little Rock; and his four grandchildren, Daniel Wood Hickman, Lauren Elizabeth Hickman, James Brett Hickman and Catherine Elise Hickman.

Funeral services will be held on June 24 at 2 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Frank LaBlanc officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Monticello.

A memorial service will be held on June 27 at 11 a.m. at Westover Hills Presbyterian Church in Little Rock.
