James William Crow, 86, of Lake Village, passed away on July 9, 2016 at his home in Lake Village.
Mr. Crow began his career as a carpenter with his father in Texas. Later, he moved his family back to Arkansas and became shop foreman for Massey Ferguson until it closed. Because of his love for the outdoors and land, he became a farmer until he retired. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mr. Crow was born on May 5, 1930, in Dermott to the late George Spencer Crow, Sr. and Callie Teague Crow.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by a brother, George Spencer Crow, Jr.; two sisters, Lorene Brown and Shirley Ringgold; his son-in-law, James Effrein; two great grandsons Andrew Payton Wells and William Hunter Funkhouser.
Survivors are his wife of 66 years, Minnie Davidson Crow; a brother, Buddy Crow and wife Betty of Texas; three sons, Glenn Crow and wife Sharon of Winchester, Dennis Crow and wife Brenda of Lake Village, and Spencer Lee Crow and wife Anna of Holly Springs, Mississippi; two daughters Loretta Crow Seymour and husband James of Lake Village and Connie Crow Effrein of Lake Village; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held in July 13 at 10 a.m. at Bayou Mason Baptist Church, followed by a celebration of his life beginning at 11 a.m.
