Jamie Mizell Carter, 39, of Dumas passed away on April 8, 2015 in Dumas.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Women’s Service League, OIF and Home Front Family Readiness Group. She taught at Dumas Public School District for 13 years.

Mrs. Carter was born January 19, 1976 in Dumas and was the daughter of Ronnie and Kay Nichols Mizell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Carter.

Survivors are one daughter, Kaylee Carter of Dumas; her parents, Ronnie and Kay Mizell of Dumas; mother-in law Shirley Carter of St. Louis, Missouri; a sister, Tammy (Ricky) Shambley, Dumas; and her nephews and nieces, Jacob Shambly, Lauren (Victor) Shambley, Colby (Stephen) Smith, Victoria, Makinzie, Raelyn, Colton and Kaylee.

Visitation held April 10 from 8 p.m. until 10 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Home in Dumas. Funeral service held April 11 at 5:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Dumas with Rev. Dubs Byers officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Lake Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
