Janet Kay Treadwell Allen, 62, of Monticello passed away Christmas Eve with loved ones surrounding her at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Janet was born on February 5, 1954 in Dermott, to the late Wesley Euin and Vivian Treadwell. She graduated from Desha Central in 1974 and later earned her nursing degree from UA Monticello. Her nursing career ended too soon after being diagnosed with lupus.
Janet is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Billy Thomas Treadwell.
She is survived by two brothers, Don (Patricia) Treadwell of Helena, Charles (Pat) Treadwell of Hot Springs; three sisters, Virginia (O.A) Allen of Memphis, Joy (Ron) White of England and Renee (John Frank Gibson) Treadwell of Monticello; two children, Shelley (Clay) Smith of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and John David (Annie) Carter of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren, Clifford Smith, III, Savannah and Madison Smith, all of Baton Rouge, Ryan Belle Carter of Gulf Port, Mississippi, Leilanie and Julianna Carter of San Antonio, Texas and one great-grandchild, Audrey Grace Smith of Baton Rouge.
A family memorial service will be planned at a later date.
