Janie Ann Brockwell, 83, of Crossett, died April 30, 2014 at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock.
Mrs. Brockwell was a native of Covington, Tenn. and a resident of Crossett since 1961.
She worked at the Hamburg and Crossett shirt factories and she owned her own ceramic shop for several years. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She loved to go fishing and it was never too hot or too cold to go fishing.
She is preceded in death by two sons, Earnest and Travis Murphy; her father and step-mother, Charles and Sue Thomas; her mother, Gladys Dean Thomas; four brothers, Charles Thomas Jr., James Thomas, Jerry Thomas and Bobby Thomas; five sisters, Lazene Metzie, Lila Tracy, Betty Waites, Sandra Moses and Chris Bounds and two sons that she raised, Sonny and Raymond Murphy.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Fulton Brockwell; three daughters, Janie Ann Murphy, Doris Rives and Chris Ferrell all of Crossett; two sons, Bobby Murphy of Johnsville and Ricky Murphy of Hampton; two step-sons, Glen Brockwell and Tony Brockwell both of Crossett; two sons that she raised, Tommy Murphy of Lonoke and Jackie Murphy of Hamburg; two sisters, Peggy Manly of Covington, Tennessee and Carol Lynn Herron of Memphis; 18 grandchildren and numerous step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial will be at 2 p.m. on May 2 at the Carlock Cemetery with Pastor Ginger Weems officiating. Memorials may be made to:
