Jean Calvert Briant, 86, of Warren and Monticello, died on January 29, 2016 at Chapel Woods in Warren.

She was a former employee of Pacific Bell, former seamstress at Jack Winter, former owner and operator of Briant’s Music, and a member of Christian Fellowship.

Mrs. Briant was born on June 16, 1929 in Warren, and was the daughter of the late Louie Calvert and Lela Amelia Gossien Calvert.

In addition to her parents, she was preced in death by her husband, John Franklin Briant; two sons, John Douglas Briant and Glen Briant; two brothers, Edward Calvert and Harrell Calvert; and two sisters, Sibyl Haynes and Meta Mills.

Survivors are two sons, Andrew “Andy” Briant (Terrie) of Monticello and Robert “Bobby” Briant, Ft. Smith; two daughters Dr. Laura Evans (Andy) of Warren and Janis Mennite (Dominick) of Scotts Valley, California; two brothers, Delbert Calvert and Howard Calvert both of Warren; a sister Jerry Neely (Jay) of Herbine; three grandchildren Donny Brown of New Edinburg, Cheryl Wells (James) of Warren, and Melody Walsh (Rick) of Houston, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Emily Wells, Jamey Wells, William Wells, all of Warren, Destiny Brown of Kingsland, and Isaac Walsh, Houston, Texas.

Funeral service will be held on February 2, at 1:30 p.m. at Frazer’s Funeral Home with Rev. Wayman Mann officiating.
