Jean Vaughn, 88, of Lake Village, passed away November 20, 2020.
She was born in Fayette, Alabama on July 25, 1932 to the late C.J. and Omie Essery Kelley.
She married Ellon Vaughn on July 25, 1949.
She worked for the Bobbie Brooks Manufacturing Company at Lepanto, Arkansas from 1960-1968. In 1968, Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn moved to Jonesville, Louisiana where she worked at a clothing factory. They moved to Lake Village in 1975.
She managed the LaVilla Motel from 1977 until 1979 when they purchased the motel and operated it until her retirement in 2005. Jean enjoyed gardening, quilting and sewing. She was a member of Lake Village Baptist Church.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ellon Vaughn; daughter, Vickie Vaughn; brother, Leroy Kelley and sister, Ann Craft.
Survivors include her sons, David (Debbie) Vaughn of Lake Village and Larry (Lisa) Vaughn of Monroe, Louisiana; brothers, Rick Kelley of Wasco, California and Thomas Kelley of Monticello; sisters, Rockell Vaughn of Lake Village and Elizabeth McKenzie of Cherokee Village; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
Graveside Services will be held Monday, November 23 at 11 a.m. at Lake Village Cemetery with Rev. Tim Chennault officiating.
