Jeanette Magness Stubblefield of Cottage Grove, Ore., formerly of Dermott, died March 3, 2014.
She was born Jan 3, 1934 at Newark and was the daughter of the late Paul and Ruby Magness. A
After graduation from Dermott High School she enlisted in the US Air Force and was assigned duties at the Pentagon, Alexandria, Va. Upon completion of her enlistment, she returned to Arkansas and was employed by Jefferson County School District until she retired.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Phillip Vincent Mesa.
She is survived by a daughter, Laura Beth Pendergrass and a grand-daughter, Ariele Pendergrass of Cottage Grove.
Other immediate survivors include five sisters and three brothers; Juanita Robertson of Monticello, Evelyn Roark of Jennie, Carolyn Bowden, Yuma, Ariz., Helen Bunch of Pine Bluff, Tom Magness of Bentonville, Dolores Cornelius of Monticello, Winston Magness of Terry, Miss. and Ronnie Magness, Mt Ida.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was a member of Dermott Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be held March 15 at 2 p.m. at Dermott Baptist Church with Pastor Tom Cunningham officiating.
Arrangements are by Bishop Funeral Home of Lake Village.
