Jerry Dewayne Penick, 74, of Monticello, passed away on December 24, 2019 at his home.
He was born 0n October 14, 1945 in Monticello to the late Harold Penick and Ethel Inez Jeffers Brantley.
Mr. Penick was a retired salvage dealer and a Baptist. He was a very jolly man with many friends. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and wheeling and dealing at the casino.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Amber Penick; and two brothers, Harold Clyde Penick and Billy Hill.
Survivors include his wife, Lawanda Cater Penick of Monticello; a son, Jerry Lee Penick and wife, Kelly, of Austin, Texas; a daughter, Penny Williams and husband, Kelvin, of Monticello; five grandchildren, Christopher, Anthony, Jerrick, Martavious and Alexis; one great-grandchild, Charli; two sisters, Ruthie Scroggins of Bastrop, Louisiana and Shirley McClure and husband, Dewey, of Smackover; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 28 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 29, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
