Jerry Don Sledge, MSgt (Ret), 74, of Little Rock, passed away August 23, 2021.
Jerry was born in Monticello on November 28, 1946 to the late Earl Sledge and Ovie Stevenson Sledge.
He was a 1965 graduate of Dermott High School and served with the United States Army National Guard for more than 40 years. After retiring from the National Guard he got his real estate license and sold real estate for a few years. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
Jerry loved to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed making knives and working on his jeep. His grandchildren called him Papa.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn Mangum Sledge.
Survivors include his son, Dax Sledge and his wife Hayley of Little Rock; daughter, Tiffany Kehayov and her husband Anguel of Little Rock; sister, Virginia Pierson and her husband R.V. also of Little Rock; grandchildren, Eden Sledge, Emi Kehayov and Wilder Kehayov; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Saturday, August 28, at 10 a.m. at Tillar Cemetery pavilion with Rev. Kenny Culpepper officiating.
