Jerry Thomas Sheppard, 80, of Lake Village died on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at his home.
He was a United States Air Force veteran from 1955-1959 and was employed by Unites States Gypsum Company as a sales representative for 40 years.
Mr. Sheppard was born on April 4, 1936 in Tchula, Mississippi. He was the son of the late Levi Thomas Sheppard and the late Julia (Shurlds) Sheppard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Denzelle and John W. Sheppard; half-brothers, Sidney, Adrian, and Gene Sheppard; and a nephew, James Breeland Sheppard.
Survivors are, his wife of 52 years, Bernice Noah Sheppard; two sons, Thomas Curren (Georgia) Sheppard of Skiatook, Oklahoma and Dr. Jerry Melton (Shelley) Sheppard of Jackson, Mississippi; a sister, Carmen (CJ) Bryant of Mayflower; a half-brother- Roy Mac (Carolyn) Sheppard of Braxton, Mississippi; sisters-in-law, Paulina Massey Sheppard of Germantown, Tennessee and Barbara Sheppard of Carrollton, Mississippi; two grandsons, Karber Curren, and John Duren Sheppard both of Enid, Oklahoma, and three granddaughters, Lesley Kimmons Sheppard, Catherine Nanette Sheppard and Margaret Melton Sheppard all of Jackson, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 20 from noon until 1 p.m. with the funeral services starting 1 p.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1865 South Main Street, Greenville, Mississippi with Reverend David Frierson officiating. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Carrollton, Mississippi around 3:30 p.m. Arrangements are by Bishop-King Funeral Home of Lake Village.
