Jimmie Rodgers, 86, of Monticello, passed away on June 7, 2016 at his home in Monticello.
He was born July 14, 1929 in Drew County to the late Lloyd Rodgers and Lela Mae Goyne Rodgers. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Bobbie Jean Stephenson Rodgers.
Mr. Rodgers was a self-employed businessman/entrepreneur and a Baptist. He was a family man who loved taking care of his family. He enjoyed traveling, camping and listening to bluegrass music.
Survivors include two sons, Jimmie L. Rodgers and wife Aundie and Randy Rodgers and wife Vanessa all of Crossett; one brother, Ervin Rodgers and wife Sue of Crossett; four sisters, Christine Pennington and husband Hugh of Monticello, Aurelia Pennington and husband Nolan of Fayetteville, Merle Hickam of Monticello and Dovie Reno of Ozark; three grandchildren, Shana Marquis and husband Tony of Benton, Louisiana, Amber Rodgers Pope of Crossett and Brandi Dodson and husband Frank of Crossett; and six great-grandchildren, Ty and Lana Dodson, Anna Kate and Grace Pope and Madison and Macy Marquis.
Funeral service will be held on June 9 at 2 p.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home with Revs. Jamie Staley and David Jacks officiating. Visitation will be from noon until service time on June 9. Burial will be at Green Hill Cemetery in Drew County.
