Jimmy Bowen, 67, of Wilmar, passed away on May 26, 2015, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Little Rock.
He was president of the CWA Communication Workers of America and of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Bowen was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting all kinds of game. He was also an avid fan of NASCAR, the Arkansas Razorbacks and baseball. He loved his grandsons and enjoyed spending time with them.
Mr. Bowen was born on December 29, 1947 in Little Rock and was the son of the late William Bowen and Gertrude Markley Bowen.
Survivors include his wife, Janis Kay McGhee Bowen of Wilmar; a daughter, Kristi Massey and husband Brandon of White Hall; two sisters, Shirley Pharis and Jan Baldridge both of Little Rock; and three grandsons, Kade, Zane and Gage.
Funeral service will be held May 29 at 10 a.m. at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home with burial to follow in 16th Section Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on May 28 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
