Jimmy E. Mizell, 59, of Gould, passed away on March 16, 2020.
He was born in Dumas on September 6, 1960 and was the son of the late Lee and Pearlene White Mizell. His parents and a brother, Charles Mizell preceded him in death.
Mr. Mizell was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Dumas and was raised in Bethel Baptist Church in Gould. He sang at church, funerals, weddings and special events. He never met a stranger and loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed making pies for family and friends who were experiencing loss or just because. He was employed by the Arkansas Department of Correction for 19 years, was a member of Arkansas State Employee Association, the Correction Peace Officers Association and the Cummins Employee Association.
Survivors are his wife of 39 years, Kimmie Mizell of Gould; two daughters, Christa (Mark) Rongey and Karajean (Ell) Roberson of White Hall; two brothers, Randy Mizell of Gould and Clint Mizell of Hot Springs; five grandchildren, Hannah, Emma and Alex Rongey and Jonah and Seth Mizell; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 19 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church in Dumas. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the church. Rev. Scott Gilbreth will officiate. The burial will be at Walnut Lake Cemetery.
