Jo Ann Deal Phillips, 81, of Crossett, passed away on August 20, 2014.
Mrs. Phillips was an executive assistant to the president of the Ashley, Drew & Northern Railroad. She also worked for First National Bank of Crossett and the Crossett Lumber Co.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Crossett where she taught the second grade Sunday school class for more than 35 years and the adult ladies Sunday school class for several years.
Mrs. Phillips was born on May 31, 1933 at Fountain Hill and was the daughter of the late Jesse Jackson and Mary Holland Deal.
She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Phillips of Crossett; a son, Terry Deal Phillips and wife, Jennifer, of Springdale; a brother, Conrad Deal of Warren; two sisters, Frances Deal Cleveland of Maumelle and Jean Deal Kilcrease of Crossett; three grandchildren, Neal Phillips of Honolulu, Hawaii, Holland Belline of Springdale, and Erin Terry and husband, Dennis, of Centerton; two great-grandchildren, Braxon Terry, Jack Terry and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation is August 22 from from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Crossett. Funeral services will be held August 23 at 2 p.m. at the church with Bros. Jamie Staley and Tracy Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
