Joe Ruble Thompson, 80, of Monticello, passed away October 2, 2021 surrounded by his family.
He was born in Dermott on December 4, 1940 to the late Robert K. and Winifred Buffaloe Thompson.
Mr. Thompson served four years in the United States Navy. He worked as a field service representative and product support manager for J. A. Riggs Tractor Company for over thirty years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. Joe loved his family especially his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of McGehee Church of Christ.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob Thompson and John Thompson.
Survivors include his wife of sixty one years, Linda Biggs Thompson; son, Joe Darrell Thompson of Monticello; daughter, Sonja Snow of Monticello; brothers, Bill (Judy) Thompson of Holliday, Tennessee and James (Joyce) Thompson of North Little Rock; grandchildren, Kristen Snow, Stephanie Peacock; great-grandchildren, Josh Perez, Grace Perez and Landon Peacock.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 3, at 2 p.m. at McGehee Church of Christ with David Box officiating.
