Joey Boren Holthoff, 82, of Dumas passed away at her home on July 28,2017.

She was born on March 10, 1935 in Gould to the late Cecil M. and Mary Frances Cook Boren.

Joey was a member of Dark Corner Christian Church and was a school teacher at Gould Public School and Dumas School District for many years. Her husband, Victor Holthoff; one brother, Pee Wee Boren; two sisters, Annette Knight and Frances Few; and a daughter-in-law, Susan Holthoff preceded her in death.

She is survived by three sons, Boren “Bo” Holthoff, Chris Holthoff and Philip Holthoff all of Dumas; two brothers, Banty Boren of Alexander and Buddy Boren of Melbourne, Florida; and one sister, Brenda Gasaway of Gould.

Visitation will be Monday, July 31 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Tuesday, August 1, at 10:00am, Dark Corner Christian Church with Rev. Tom Bowlby and Rev. Jim Smith officiating. Burial will be at the Holthoff Cemetery. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to Betty Timmons and Rocio Gundino for the special care they gave their mother.
