John A. Hogue, Sr. 68, of Tillar, passed away on June 23, 2016 at his home.
He served as a combat medic with the United States Army in Vietnam, taught carpentry at UAM Vocational School in McGehee, was a self-employed carpenter and was of the Methodist faith.
Mr. Hogue was born on October 27, 1947 at Tuckerman and was the son of the late Wilson and Katie Brown Hogue.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Hogue, and a granddaughter, Patience Hogue.
Survivors include his wife, Phylliss Derryberry Hogue of Tillar; three sons, John Hogue, Jr. and wife Rhonda of Tillar, Grant Hogue and Kellye of Hondo, Texas and Kirk Hogue of McGehee; four brothers, James (Buck) Hogue of Maumelle, Benny Hogue of Tyro, Kenny Hogue of Branson, MO and Randy Hogue of Winchester; six sisters, Ruby Amerson of Redfield, Pat Gill of Russellville, Carolyn Berrie of San Diego, California, Martha (Lilly) Nichols of Dumas and Peggy Betnar of Branson, Missouri and Kathy Pitillo of Winchester; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be held on June 25 at 1:30 p.m. at the Tillar Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Green officiating.
