John Joseph Etue, 79 of Star City, died on June 26, 2017 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.
He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Star City. He was a retired logger and a retired janitor for National Wire Fabric, Inc.
Mr. Etue was born June 17, 1938 in Desha County and was the son of the late Marion Oliver, Sr. and Leaffie Burnett Etue.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Faye Johnson Etue; two daughters, Gina Faye Etue and Tina May Pennington; five brothers, Pete Etue, Holdren Etue, Ira Etue and Bobby Etue; and sister, Marion Walker.
Survivors include a son, Jammie Etue of Star City; a daughter, Jimmie Dell Etue of McGehee; a brother, Marion Etue of Star City; three sisters, Evelyn Lowery of Indianapolis, Indiana, Bessie Thatcher of Waynestown, Indiana and Allie Clark of Phoenix, Arizona; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 1 at 10 a.m. at Griffin Funeral Service Chapel in Star City. Visitation is Friday, June 30 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Butler/Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
